The System Development Engineer role at Amazon Leo focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable system architectures for a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The team is responsible for ensuring reliable internet connectivity for various customers, including households and organizations in remote areas. This position requires strong networking experience and expertise in data analysis and visualization. The role involves collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Deployment, and Security teams to optimize network performance.
Requirements
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable system architectures and infrastructure.
- Automate system provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines for system updates and releases.
- Write scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues.
- Monitor network performance and implement optimization strategies.
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from various network sources.
- Generate actionable insights from network traffic analysis.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Splunk or equivalent platforms.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for network and system metrics.
- Analyze log data to identify trends, anomalies, and security threats.
