Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its Data Center design team. The role involves leading land development and site civil engineering designs for large-scale data center campuses. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards for safety and security. This position offers the opportunity to impact the design of critical infrastructure while working in an inclusive and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of land development regulations and entitlement processes.
  • Experience in civil design for Data Centers or Mission Critical facilities for at least 2 years.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage external data center civil design consultants throughout the design and construction process.
  • Design, review, and optimize site and land development plans including grading and drainage.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineers and agencies for project approvals.
  • Effectively communicate design standards to project partners.
  • Develop and maintain design standards and specifications for Data Centers.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
