Job description
The IT Support Engineer II role at Amazon Operations Technology Solutions involves using technical knowledge to support and improve technology solutions across various sites. Requirements
- 3+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
- 4+ years of IT systems or relevant commercial production environment experience
- 4+ years of networking experience, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
- 4+ years of Microsoft administration, Linux administration, or Cisco IOS (CLI) experience
- 4+ years of troubleshooting experience in a multi-user high availability environment
- 4+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
- 3+ years of supporting a Windows server environment experience
- Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot difficult IT problems without standard operating procedures.
- Plan and coordinate change management and change management templates.
- Collaborate with internal teams or vendors to execute projects.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Audit the quality of work performed and provide constructive feedback when necessary.
- Automate manual tasks and create or improve small tools to enhance team operations.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for technical issues.
- Participate in hiring, training, and development of team members.
- Support customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
- Travel within the local or regional area to support customers.
