The Mechanical Engineer role at AWS involves ownership and continuous improvement of data center liquid cooling infrastructure products. You will join a diverse team of engineers and specialists, collaborating to maintain high standards for safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost. The position requires hands-on experience in mechanical and manufacturing aspects of liquid cooling products. You will also support product development teams throughout the operational life of these products.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong engineering judgment and recommendations despite uncertainty.
- Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
- Work with global liquid cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
- Build trust and relationships with various stakeholders including reliability, operations, design, and compliance.
- Support operations through failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Listen to customer feedback to identify improvements for product reliability and availability.
- Contribute to a global body of knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
