The role is part of Amazon's Devices & Services Trust CX Innovations team, focusing on building responsible AI for consumer devices like Alexa and Echo. The team aims to deliver privacy-first and trustworthy AI experiences while pushing the boundaries of generative AI innovation. The position involves tackling complex technical challenges at the intersection of AI innovation and customer trust. The successful candidate will work closely with product managers to design privacy-preserving AI architectures and frameworks.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

• Architect on-device vs. cloud processing trade-offs that optimize for privacy and performance
• Design and implement federated learning and differential privacy techniques for hybrid AI architectures
• Develop AI evaluation frameworks to measure model quality, safety, and bias across diverse customer populations
• Build observability and monitoring systems for AI performance, hallucination detection, and trust metrics
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 compliance for AI-powered interfaces
• Create explainable AI interfaces and transparency controls for customers
• Build privacy dashboards and consent management frameworks that give customers control
