Job description

The HPC/AI team at Microsoft is focused on building a next-generation distributed AI supercomputer to advance artificial intelligence through high-performance computing. As a Network Engineer, you will design and manage cutting-edge networking infrastructure that supports large-scale AI training, ensuring high performance and low latency. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of AI and high-performance computing, contributing to innovative solutions in Azure Cloud. You will be instrumental in delivering a comprehensive networking solution that enhances the capabilities of AI systems.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree in the same fields AND 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of data and identifies patterns and trends to inform decisions related to products and services.
  • Collaborates with teams across the organization to support and manage safe and secure network deployments.
  • Supports the management of incidents by diagnosing and triaging issues to maintain product and service quality.
  • Performs testing and validation of network devices, firmware, and configurations, defining and implementing test cases.
  • Triages, troubleshoots, and repairs live site issues while minimizing disruption to customers.
  • Monitors network telemetry and analyzes data to identify errors and unexpected problems.
  • Provides instructions to datacenter or network site staff on securely maintaining physical network hardware.
