The role is for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer on the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the integration and operations of next-generation storage solutions for cloud systems. The team is responsible for designing and building high-quality server systems and components that support AWS's massive scale and rapid technology integration. Engineers will collaborate with software teams to optimize SSD performance and health while ensuring operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative hardware that directly impacts AWS customers.

• 5+ years of hardware design and validation experience with components, subsystems, and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, debugging, and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment.
• Experience with system integration and operation of SSDs.
• Proficient coding, scripting, and debugging abilities in a Linux environment.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
• Expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
• Experience in developing technical documentation such as functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.

• Lead the integration and delivery of SSD from OEM suppliers.
• Support the rollout of new drives for new and existing platforms.
• Design and build infrastructure to operate storage platforms at massive scale.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to drive operational excellence.
