Job description

Join Amazon's OTS Supply Chain team as a Sr Systems Development Engineer to innovate technology infrastructure with Gen-AI solutions for critical supply chain systems. You will build scalable, distributed systems that support Amazon's global operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role involves architecting platforms, developing automation systems, and mentoring engineers. You will also drive technical decisions to balance system reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns.
  • Experience with architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build distributed micro-services handling millions of transactions daily with 99.99% uptime SLAs.
  • Design unified platforms consolidating legacy systems into single customer interfaces.
  • Implement real-time validation services with sub-second response times.
  • Develop scalable data ingestion engines supporting multiple formats with guardrail-based validation.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical design discussions.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
