You will work closely with engineers to shape the architecture of next-generation streaming infrastructure. This role emphasizes performance, correctness, and scalability in live video experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
  • Deep understanding of WebRTC architecture including signaling, ICE, DTLS, SRTP, and media negotiation
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle

  • Contributions to open-source networking or media projects

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize high-performance WebRTC distribution components for millions of concurrent viewers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evolve the architecture of real-time media delivery infrastructure.
  • Contribute to protocol design and implementation for emerging low-latency transport mechanisms.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling and experimentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure service reliability and rapid incident response.
  • Document architectural decisions and contribute to technical design reviews.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
