Job description

As a Data Infrastructure Engineer at Amazon IVS, you will empower internal teams and customers with the data necessary for operational and business decisions. You will work with petabyte-scale data infrastructure, supporting both streaming and batch pipelines for analytics and machine learning workloads. The team focuses on enabling developers to build engaging live video experiences while ensuring data quality and reliability. Your role will involve collaboration with product and analytics teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction and processing

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure in native AWS
  • Build and optimize data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning workloads
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability through monitoring and automated alerting
  • Work closely with product and analytics teams to understand requirements
  • Champion best practices for security, compliance, and governance in data infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities to optimize performance and cost of data platforms
  • Stay current with emerging tools and cloud services in the data infrastructure ecosystem
