The Network Development Engineer role within the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team at AWS focuses on delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions for next-generation IP networks. • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture
• Experience with routers, server load balancers, and firewall vendor platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto
• Possess scripting skills or have a desire to learn them, specifically in Python, Perl, or Shell

• Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, and scaling.
• Lead network projects in areas such as network sustaining engineering and optimization.
• Sustain AWS's next generation networks by providing critical network support.
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
• Partner with the broader Network/Infrastructure organization on configurations standards and tools.
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementation and deployments.
