As a Network Development Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise networks that support manufacturing facilities and mission operations centers globally. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable connectivity for mission-critical operations. This position requires a strong background in network solutions and a commitment to operational excellence.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
- 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
- 1+ years of experience with automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
- Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
- U.S. Citizenship is required to comply with government-imposed requirements
Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments.
- Ensure robust network operations supporting launch and mission activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
- Implement and manage change control processes for network modifications.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
- Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives.
- Enhance and manage monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
- Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations.
