Job description

Amazon Web Services is seeking an electrical engineer to join a global engineering team focused on electrical infrastructure products for data centers. The role involves collaborating with a diverse team to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while delivering efficient solutions. Candidates should have hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, and installation of electrical products. This position requires understanding complex electrical specifications and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years developing electrical and/or electronics products and launching them into production
  • 5+ years of experience with systems or components including wiring, connectors, relays, circuit breakers, switchgear, and/or transformers
  • Ability to design for manufacturability and create assembly specifications
  • Knowledge and experience to interpret electric codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL891, UL508, ANSI C37, or IEC standards
  • Experience with electronics including instrumentation control schematics and integration of electronic components
  • Knowledge of typical data center designs and industry design trends

Responsibilities

  • Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
  • Work with global electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders including reliability, operations, design, and compliance
  • Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones
  • Understand and explain complex systems in clear and concise language
  • Provide support to Field Engineering for root cause analysis and collaborate with the quality team for investigations
  • Listen to customer feedback to identify improvements for product reliability or availability
  • Collaborate with global suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements and oversee root cause analysis
  • Contribute to a global body of knowledge and drive continuous improvement initiatives
