The Amazon Center for Quantum Computing is seeking an Applied Science intern to focus on hardware signal train design for quantum computing. This role involves working with scientists and engineers to design and validate hardware for control and readout functions of quantum processors. • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for a maximum of 12 weeks.
• Must be able to relocate to the internship location.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics, Mathematics or related fields is required.
• Hands-on lab skills, including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers, and soldering equipment are necessary.
• Working knowledge of at least one computer aided engineering (CAE) circuit and mechanical design tool is required.
• Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results is needed.
• Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals are preferred.
• A solid background in basic electrical circuit blocks such as op-amps, biasing circuits, filtering, low-speed data converters, and microprocessors is essential.
• Previous experience with VHDL is required.
• Familiarity with RF/Microwave circuit theory, including transmission lines and impedance matching is necessary.

• Design cryogenic and room temperature printed circuit board based hardware for signal conditioning and control functions.
• Develop tests to validate hardware with both benchtop and cryogenic test setups with quantum devices.
• Explore enabling control technologies necessary for Amazon to produce commercially viable quantum computers.
