Job description

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer role in the Distributed Training team for AWS Neuron focuses on the development, enablement, and performance tuning of various ML model families, particularly large-scale models like LLMs. The team collaborates closely with chip architects and engineers to optimize distributed training solutions on AWS custom silicon. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead.
  • Experience in machine learning and large-scale training with LLMs.
  • Expertise in PyTorch.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to build distributed training support into PyTorch and the Neuron compiler.
  • Enable distributed training strategies to optimize models for peak performance.
  • Maximize efficiency on AWS custom silicon, including Trainium servers.
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
