Job description

Join the Safety Firmware team at Amazon Robotics as a Software Development Engineer II, where you will develop embedded safety systems for warehouse automation. Your role will involve bridging hardware and software to create safety-certified solutions that ensure the safety of people around robotic systems. You will collaborate with various engineering disciplines and explore EdgeAI on resource-constrained embedded systems. This position emphasizes adherence to rigorous safety standards while delivering high-performance embedded solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++
  • Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and code reviews
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
  • Experience writing low level drivers
  • Experience in embedded wireless systems
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software components for safety-critical systems using C/C++/Rust.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware design, manufacturing, and software teams.
  • Participate in the full product development lifecycle including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Provide meaningful feedback during code reviews to improve software quality.
  • Explore and implement new possibilities for EdgeAI on resource-constrained embedded systems.
