The HPC/AI team at Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop next-generation networking infrastructure for large-scale AI training and inference in Azure Cloud. This role focuses on ensuring high performance, low latency, and minimal jitter for distributed AI workloads. The engineer will work at the intersection of AI and high-performance computing, contributing to the design and delivery of comprehensive solutions. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

• Lead discussions and own the architecture of products/solutions, developing complex design specifications and testing design options.
• Independently create clear test strategies that ensure solution quality, incorporating security testing and leveraging AI tools for test automation.
• Produce extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code adhering to design specifications.
• Review product and test code to ensure compliance with standards and adequate test coverage.
• Collaborate cross-team to identify dependencies, resolve conflicts, and ensure overall system security and reliability.
• Apply and promote security best practices across code, architecture, and operations.
