Job description

The Embedded Software Development Engineer will be responsible for building and owning server-related firmware within the AWS Hardware Engineering team. This team focuses on creating innovative solutions for data center infrastructure problems, working closely with a diverse group of engineers and technical program managers. The role emphasizes collaboration across various job functions and groups to ensure high-quality firmware development. The position offers the opportunity to impact AWS's cloud offerings significantly.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of embedded firmware development experience
  • Experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
  • Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Master's degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) Software.
  • Engage in scripting language development.
  • Provide Data Center Operation Support.
  • Contribute to Linux driver development.
  • Collaborate with various job roles and groups through server conception, testing, launch, and operations.
