Job description

The role is for an experienced Software Development Engineer focused on enhancing the shopping experience at Amazon through large language models. The team aims to improve online shopping using conversational AI capabilities. You will work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical program managers to develop agentic services and applications. This position offers the chance to contribute to the technical roadmap and build intelligent agents that enhance user experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Experience building or operating LLM-powered agent systems
  • Experience with agent evaluation frameworks
  • Experience hosting or serving large language models at scale

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop agentic services and applications powered by large language models.
  • Build expertise in online service architecture, API development, and distributed systems.
  • Develop service orchestration patterns and efficient agent frameworks.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap and service reliability metrics.
  • Establish best practices that improve LLM application efficiency.
  • Design and implement large scale distributed agentic AI applications.
  • Participate in prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning activities.
