The role involves working as a mechanical engineer within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on the design and operation of mechanical systems for data centers. Engineers will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure high standards of safety, security, and efficiency. The position requires hands-on mechanical design experience and the ability to drive projects from concept to completion. Candidates will also engage with external vendors and agencies to meet compliance and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in design engineering or the construction industry related to mechanical systems
- 4+ years of experience using Revit for producing Mechanical & Plumbing engineering BIM models and construction drawings
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience with design review processes and understanding construction documents
- Experience designing high volume air handling systems and chilled water systems
Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams to understand user requirements for mechanical designs
- Create construction document sets in collaboration with other disciplines
- Specify appropriate mechanical equipment in coordination with regional vendors
- Ensure compliance with city/county requirements and building codes
- Review and approve equipment submittals
- Define project scopes and provide technical support during construction phases
- Travel to sites for site reviews and work with onsite field engineers
