Job description
The Senior Software Engineer role in the Azure High Performance Computing and AI Platform team focuses on designing and delivering advanced AI training and inference solutions. This position involves deep technical work related to hardware/software interactions, device virtualization, and performance analysis of GPU workloads. The team collaborates with various Microsoft teams and industry partners to enhance Azure's cloud offerings. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly impact Microsoft's AI infrastructure and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Analyze functionality, integration, and performance issues at various levels of the HW/SW stack on current and future generations of AI training platforms.
- Design and code solutions that improve functional correctness, stability, and performance of AI training oriented VM offerings and related services.
- Optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability.
- Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and collaborate with other engineers across products/solutions.
- Develop a playbook for the team to resolve issues.
- Maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem of engineers.
