Microsoft AI is seeking experienced High Performance Computing Engineers to join the Superintelligence Team, focusing on building and scaling infrastructure for training frontier AI models. This role involves working with some of the largest supercomputers globally, contributing to the development of AI systems that align with human values. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with high-performance clusters.
- 4+ years of experience working with high-scale training clusters using frameworks/tools such as NVIDIA InfiniBand, SLURM, Kubernetes, or Ray.
- 4+ years of experience building scalable services on public cloud infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Master's degree in computer science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience with LLM training clusters and AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs.
Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and maintain large-scale HPC environments in production settings.
- Own the deployment, configuration, and operation of HPC schedulers to ensure efficient job scheduling.
- Serve as a technical owner for a core HPC domain, including maintenance and performance tuning of clusters.
- Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Bash and/or Python to enhance cluster reliability.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to support workloads and troubleshoot cluster issues.
