Job description
This role involves working with the global controls team at AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on the management and troubleshooting of building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) within data centers. The team consists of diverse experts in software, hardware, and network engineering, among other vital roles. The position emphasizes collaboration to ensure safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost for customers. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA
Responsibilities
- Train and assist internal customers with the creation and operation of BMS and EPMS systems
- Provide technical assistance and support during the life cycle of the data center
- Review maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and resolve action items
- Develop project scope, schedule, budget, and level of effort for BMS and EPMS projects
- Manage the execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers
- Assist in procurement activities including vendor proposal reviews and purchase orders
- Participate in the global on-call schedule for BMS and EPMS technical support
- Attend project meetings and report status to management
- Support commissioning activities related to Controls projects in data centers
- Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations
- Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts
- Visit in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work
