Job description
The Senior Software Engineer will join Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, to drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for robotic software systems. The team focuses on creating capable and delightful robots that enhance everyday human interactions. This role involves collaboration across various engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and accelerate development velocity. The engineer will also define technical roadmaps and innovate in robotic software development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree or above in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithm design, statistics, and system design
- Experience leading the design, build, and deployment of complex software solutions in production
- Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical trade-offs and best practices
- Experience in robotics design, automation systems development, or related product development
- Experience with training and deploying machine learning systems for large-scale optimizations
- Experience mentoring or training the engineering community on complex technical issues
- Track record of delivering developer-facing products with robust SDKs and fault-tolerant distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Drive architecture and design decisions for robotic software systems, including perception, navigation, and human-robot interaction.
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex software systems from design through production deployment.
- Lead collaboration across research, machine learning, hardware, and operations teams.
- Define technical roadmaps and drive innovation in robotic software development.
- Design and implement systems and tools that accelerate development velocity for engineering teams.
