Job description
As a Systems Engineer in Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) Technology Deployment team, you will oversee the planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across North America's fulfillment network. This role requires strong technical skills in deploying robotic equipment and managing complex projects. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure successful deployment and operational excellence. The position involves significant travel, with expectations of up to 75% travel across North America.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- 2+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience
- 1+ years of experience working in at least two programming languages such as Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Experience working in a 24/7 production environment
- 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
- Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems and resolve escalations
- Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment and travel extensively
Responsibilities
- Manage the tactical deployment of large scale industrial automation technologies across multiple sites.
- Own the tactical execution of installation and acceptance testing to achieve target go-live dates.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering and internal customers to convert technical requirements into deployment execution documents.
- Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation and optimization.
- Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment.
- Create and improve standard work documents and operational guidebooks.
- Influence internal and partner teams towards meeting team level goals.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
