Job description
Amazon is looking for a talented Electro-Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and launch robotic End Effectors. The role involves working on advanced robotics systems that combine AI and sophisticated control systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanism design and integration, and will work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and integrating mechanisms into robotics systems
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Expert in wire rope, dyneema, 4-bar linkage, and hydrostatic transmissions
- Deep understanding of mechanical efficiency, inertia, compliance, and component capacities
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and debugging subsystems
- Experience with transmission design for robot end-effectors/grippers
- Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with project management of technical projects
Responsibilities
- Author functional requirements, design verification plans, and test procedures
- Execute product designs which meet the requirements
- Build and test mechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
- Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
- Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
- Collaborate with Electrical and Controls engineers
- Document designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
- Design and debug tooled components such as sheet metal, cast, and injection molded parts
