Job description
The Commissioning Engineer at AWS is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the commissioning of critical infrastructure for new construction and special projects. This role involves working with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The engineer will develop and review commissioning documentation and provide input into project planning and execution. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight schedules.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- High technical competency in mechanical or electrical systems utilized in critical infrastructures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience reading and editing construction documents such as design drawings and specifications
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline work related to design review and commissioning of Amazon critical infrastructure
- Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems
- Develop and review commissioning documentation to ensure compliance with design and industry standards
- Audit commissioning activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
- Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of project status, lessons learned, and program improvements
