The Senior Security Engineer role at Amazon Security focuses on securing foundational platforms such as OS kernels, virtualization, and hardware. The team is dedicated to protecting the Amazon Security cloud environment and enhancing customer trust through robust security practices. Candidates will leverage their deep security expertise to conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and penetration testing. This position also emphasizes collaboration, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to process improvements within the IT Security team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or experience in IT Security.
- Experience in Security Engineering or Development of Security capabilities.
- Experience in Virtualization security, Hardware security, and chipset security.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with AWS Services and knowledge of common security-relevant protocols.
Responsibilities
- Conduct security reviews for hardware including servers and devices.
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability research.
- Engage in threat modeling to identify potential security risks.
- Provide security training and outreach to internal development teams.
- Develop security guidance documentation and assist with recruiting activities.
