Job description

This role is for a software engineer in the Distributed Training team for AWS Neuron, focusing on optimizing distributed training performance on Trainium. The team collaborates with chip architects and engineers to enhance training efficiency and throughput for large-scale machine learning models. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to optimize distributed training performance on Trainium.
  • Maximize training throughput and model flops utilization across the Neuron software stack.
  • Work across PyTorch, JAX, and the Neuron compiler and runtime to enable large-scale training workloads.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack.
  • Collaborate with chip architects, compiler engineers, and runtime engineers to create and tune distributed training solutions.
