Job description

The Senior Software Development Engineer role at Amazon Web Services focuses on enhancing the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) platform for enterprise workloads. The EC2 Instance Platform team is dedicated to solving complex challenges for customers using next-gen technologies. Engineers will work on developing large-scale, highly available distributed systems while collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system-level programming and experience with Windows user- or kernel-mode drivers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience or MS/PhD with 8+ years of experience
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • 5+ years of experience in developing Windows user-mode or kernel-mode drivers
  • Deep understanding of OS level, familiar with either Windows or Linux kernels
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written forms

Responsibilities

  • Innovate and create a vision for system software to benefit enterprise customers
