Job description

The Chemical Systems Modeling Technical Specialist will join the Engineering team at Cummins Inc. in Indianapolis, IN. This role focuses on leading projects and driving results in complex technical environments. The specialist will also champion the development and standardization of engineering processes while guiding less experienced team members. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required.
  • Strong analytical ability in chemical reaction kinetics, catalysis fundamentals, gas dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency with various advanced numerical methods and algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead smaller-scale projects or take ownership of complex components and systems.
  • Execute established and emerging engineering processes independently.
  • Champion the development, improvement, and standardization of work processes and systems.
  • Coordinate and guide the work of technicians and student engineers.
  • Influence technical direction by providing expert support and guidance to project teams.
