Job description

The Member of Technical Staff for Developer Experience at Microsoft AI will contribute to the development of the personalized AI assistant, Copilot. This role involves enhancing the machine learning development ecosystem by improving CI/CD systems, building developer tools, and optimizing cloud infrastructure. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive best practices in AI model development. The position is part of the Microsoft Superintelligence Team, which focuses on creating responsible and efficient artificial general intelligence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 12+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or a Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 8+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for large-scale ML training workloads.
  • Build developer tools and automation to simplify training and evaluation workflows.
  • Improve and maintain core infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.
  • Deploy and manage model hosting systems for inference and data generation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices in reliability, testability, and performance.
  • Actively contribute to the development of AI models that are powering innovative products.
  • Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks to get work into the hands of users quickly and iteratively.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, design-driven product development cycle.
