The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role focuses on High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions within the Google Public Sector team. This position involves defining and implementing HPC solutions using infrastructure-as-code and automation modules. The team is dedicated to helping public sector institutions leverage Google Cloud Platform for their computing needs. The engineer will work with distributed systems and apply computational experience in various industries, including healthcare and finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in software development in C++, Python, Java or similar.
- 6 years of experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) system architecture and applications.
- 6 years of experience testing and launching software products, and with software design and architecture.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Understand customers' current and future computing goals and generalize them into repeatable usage patterns and adequate cloud architecture.
- Implement specific HPC solutions as infrastructure-as-code and necessary deployment tooling functionality.
- Work closely with technical leads, product managers, and partner service engineering teams to ensure high-quality features through the software project life-cycle.
- Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical tests for customers.
- Provide both remote and on-site support for the deployment of new cloud capacity and technologies.
