StubHub is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance the ticketing experience for fans, focusing on the operational journey from ticket purchase to event entry. This role involves developing predictive models to identify and mitigate fulfillment issues while optimizing customer service policies. The candidate will work closely with product managers, analytics engineers, and operations leaders to translate business problems into actionable data products. The position is hybrid, based in New York, NY or Century City, CA.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience in data science or machine learning, with an MS or PhD in a quantitative field preferred.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in numerical and machine learning libraries.
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying production machine learning models in cloud environments.
- Expertise in working with large-scale data using modern analytics platforms and strong proficiency in SQL.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate modeling assumptions and impact to various audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the science behind ticket fulfillment by crafting and deploying scalable machine learning models.
- Work with operations partners to shape roadmaps and identify high-impact opportunities.
- Apply principles of experimentation and causal inference to ensure rigorous evaluation of work products.
- Partner with platform and analytics teams to ensure data availability and quality.
- Communicate trade-offs and impact to executives and non-technical partners.
