Job description

The Senior Software Engineer for Permissioning Interfaces will be part of Bloomberg's Real-time Data group, focusing on entitlement management for real-time data access. The team is responsible for building and maintaining user-facing workflows and APIs that simplify client interactions with data. This full-stack development role primarily utilizes Python and TypeScript to create intuitive interfaces and services. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance of the data management system.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience developing with Python using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
  • 2+ years of experience with modern web technologies including React, TypeScript, and NodeJS.
  • Experience working with APIs and SQL database schema design.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an agile, cross-functional team to design, develop, and deploy scalable user workflows.
  • Build interactive, data-rich front-end interfaces using React and TypeScript.
  • Design, build, and maintain REST APIs using modern Python frameworks.
  • Partner with product managers and clients to deliver client-facing interfaces that simplify complex workflows.
  • Lead technical design discussions and drive robust, maintainable solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in system observability and performance.
