Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will be part of Bloomberg's Workplace Productivity team, which develops internal solutions using Microsoft 365/Azure and Google Workspace for over 25,000 employees. This role involves building secure and governed solutions while exploring the latest capabilities from Microsoft and Google. The engineer will focus on adopting new technologies responsibly, ensuring long-term reliability and security. The position requires a blend of software development expertise and an understanding of governance models.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, specializing in building production services and automation solutions using C#, Python, and PowerShell.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Understanding of latest AI tooling such as M365 Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini.
  • Experience understanding and applying governance for Copilot Studio agents.
  • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert.
  • Security Certifications - SANS or similar.
  • Google Workspace Administration experience/certifications.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 services and how to manage and secure them at enterprise scale.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure Entra ID.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering data protection and compliance solutions for financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with security posture improvements and hardening concepts in cloud environments.
  • Experience designing and operating web and Windows services that integrate with other internal systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing DevOps pipelines and enabling automated deployments.
  • Experience across all phases of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Build internal solutions across Microsoft 365/Azure and Google Workspace.
  • Partner closely with product teams to identify and solve business problems.
  • Establish governance and lifecycle management for new technologies.
  • Turn the latest capabilities from Microsoft and Google into reliable solutions.
  • Manage DevOps pipelines and leverage GitHub for configuration-as-code.
  • Design and implement data protection and compliance solutions.
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace with third-party security systems.
