The Senior Software Engineer for Data Gateway Interfaces will be part of the Analytics Platform group, which is responsible for core data and analytics services at Bloomberg. This role focuses on re-architecting the Data Gateway to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance. The engineer will work on high visibility projects that impact the entire organization and will have opportunities to interact with senior management. The position requires designing and implementing critical applications within a high-volume, distributed system environment.

• 4+ years of software development experience in C++ and/or Python
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and all phases of software development
• Familiarity with developing large scale microservices systems
• Comfort with high volume, high availability distributed systems
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience

• Re-architect the next generation of the infrastructure
• Design, implement, and own critical applications and components of the infrastructure stack
• Work on high visibility projects with significant organizational impact
• Incorporate open source and industry standard solutions to address challenges
• Collaborate with various teams across Bloomberg to promote and facilitate the adoption of the new system
