Job description

The Senior Water Resources Engineer role at Jacobs involves leading technical teams in the planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects such as river restoration and stormwater quality retrofits. Based in Boise, Idaho, this position offers the chance to work on complex projects that improve water infrastructure across the Northwest region. The engineer will also play a key role in business development and client relationship management. This position emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and promoting diversity within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Ecological Engineering or a related field such as Water Resources Science.
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources subject areas, including hydrology and hydraulic analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage design tasks.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS 1D/2D and other relevant software.
  • PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of planning, design, and construction documents for water infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with business development, including strategy development and contract negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships by communicating on technical design topics.
  • Mentor and coach early-career engineers within the Water Resources Group.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and produce feasibility reports and construction plans.
