Job description
The Mid-Level Bridge Engineer role at Jacobs involves working as a key member of the Bridge Team on transportation projects in Oregon and the surrounding region. The position focuses on the design and development of various bridge projects, including new constructions and rehabilitations. The engineer will collaborate with a talented team to solve engineering challenges while ensuring project milestones are met. This hybrid role offers flexibility and emphasizes both individual contributions and teamwork.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- P.E. licensure in Oregon or another state with the possibility of reciprocity for OR P.E. licensure within 6 months
- At least 4 years of bridge, structural, civil, and/or construction experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Proficiency using bridge/structural analysis and design software
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Responsibilities
- Support the development of projects from conceptual design through final design phases and construction
- Assist in the development of specifications, cost estimates, and preparation of final bid packages
- Develop sketches and markups for calculation packages and provide them to CADD Technicians
- Compile Bridge Type Selection Reports and coordinate bridge layouts with other disciplines
- Perform calculations, assemble calculation packages, and provide bridge load ratings
- Conduct construction site visits to ensure project compliance and quality
