Job description

The Senior Building Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer role at Jacobs involves leading advanced facilities projects in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position requires a focus on the design, development, and specification of HVAC, Utility, and Plumbing systems. The engineer will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will have opportunities to mentor junior team members. This hybrid position allows for remote work with some in-office collaboration as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of practical application of mechanical engineering and design, including HVAC, Utilities, plumbing, and related building mechanical systems
  • Minimum 5 years of Life Sciences consulting engineering experience is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Ability to lead a medium to large multi-national team of designers and engineers

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for budget, schedule, and technical quality of engineering tasks
  • Coordinate work activities with other design and engineering professionals and project management
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup when needed
  • Utilize technical expertise to mentor junior team members
  • Collaborate effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams and with clients
