Job description

The Senior Structural Engineer will join Jacobs' team in Gainesville, Florida, focusing on water, wastewater, and water resource projects. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with multi-discipline teams to develop design concepts and conduct on-site inspections. Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience as a structural engineer primarily in the water/wastewater/water resources field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida.
  • Experience with U.S. building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 350, and AISC.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting, design, and construction services for various clients in the water and wastewater sectors.
  • Prepare detailed structural design drawings, calculations, and construction specifications.
  • Coordinate structural project work with other engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct condition assessments for existing buildings and structures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor less experienced engineering personnel.
