Job description

The Lead Ports Electrical Engineer will manage and lead a team of electrical engineers in delivering projects that modernize and decarbonize marine cargo and passenger terminals. This role is part of a top-ranked Ports & Maritime team focused on enhancing global trade and connectivity. The engineer will work on electrical designs for public and private cargo terminals, ensuring efficient project delivery. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and engagement with various electrical teams is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in electrical engineering from a US state
  • A minimum of 7 years of electrical design experience, particularly in ports and marine facilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards relevant to maritime facilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of electrical design drawings and technical specifications for infrastructure projects
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical and cathodic protection work for port and marine facilities
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, including technical approaches and levels of effort for electrical engineering scope
  • Collaborate with various disciplines within Jacobs to enhance project delivery and personal career development
  • Engage with Global Delivery Centers to build capability and expertise in support of the Ports & Maritime portfolio
