Job description
The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer role at Jacobs involves working on innovative solutions for municipal clients' water challenges. The engineer will lead the development of various technical documents and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to both domestic and global projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university or college
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in I&C Systems Integration design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to mentor, train, and delegate work to others domestically and abroad
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, and network drawings
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for cohesive design
- Develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces
- Perform facility startups and commissioning activities
- Review construction submittals and conduct site evaluations
