Job description
The Senior CEI Project Engineer will lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on quality control in construction projects, particularly within the Florida Department of Transportation. This role involves overseeing inspectors and engineers in various functional areas, including construction inspection and roadway design. The engineer will be responsible for creating quality control programs while mentoring staff and ensuring compliance with inspection standards. This position requires significant decision-making and judgment to guide the team effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida.
- At least six years of experience in major road or bridge construction.
- Completion of the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and passing the examination.
- FDOT Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of QA/QC members to create and implement quality control programs.
- Train and mentor staff while assigning daily tasks to team members.
- Review and resolve technical problems related to quality control.
- Ensure compliance on inspections and activities related to quality work.
- Oversee higher-level inspectors and engineers in construction inspection and surveying.
