Job description

The Entry Level Remediation Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on addressing critical environmental issues through innovative solutions. The role is part of the North Carolina Environmental Remediation Team, where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of scientists and engineers. You will be empowered to learn and grow while working on environmental site characterization and remediation projects. This hybrid position allows for flexibility in work location, balancing office and remote work to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with a concentration in environmental or a related field
  • Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina and ability to travel up to 60% - 75%
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and data management software
  • United States Citizenship and valid driver's license
  • 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related technical field is a plus
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification is preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain one within 12 months after hire

Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, or oversee soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations
  • Coordinate and manage fieldwork logistics
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation
  • Write technical reports and participate in meetings with clients and regulators
  • Build relationships and resolve conflicts within diverse teams
  • Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
