Job description
The Water Resources Engineer will join Jacobs' Baltimore Transportation team, focusing on highway and roadway drainage design. This role involves working on multi-discipline transportation and infrastructure projects that emphasize hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management. The engineer will develop designs in compliance with Maryland's drainage criteria and collaborate with various teams to integrate water resources design into projects. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland.
- Professional experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, or roadway drainage design.
- Familiarity with MDOT SHA drainage design requirements and stormwater management criteria.
- Proficiency with H&H modeling tools and CAD platforms such as Bentley OpenRoads or AutoDesk Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadway and transportation projects.
- Develop designs for storm drain systems, culverts, ditches, channels, and erosion control.
- Create 3D models for drainage conveyance networks using relevant design criteria.
- Prepare drainage reports, computations, and engineering documentation per state procedures.
- Coordinate closely with other engineering teams to integrate water resources design into projects.
