Job description

The Senior Civil Engineer will work within Jacobs' Federal & Environmental Solutions business unit, focusing on leading civil engineering projects for facility planning and design. This role involves collaborating with engineers and architects to ensure project quality and client satisfaction. The engineer will also mentor junior staff and manage project teams while addressing complex challenges related to site development for federal facilities. Travel to various project sites, including international locations, is expected.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • At least 15 years of progressive responsibility and experience in site development projects, including sealing design documents as the Engineer of Record
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Strong background in plan production and project execution while leading design teams
  • AutoCAD Civil3D design experience
  • United States Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Lead the civil engineering component of facility planning and final design projects.
  • Ensure overall project quality of civil engineering work performed.
  • Provide client service and manage utilization of assigned staff.
  • Develop labor budgets for civil engineering design efforts.
  • Attend multi-discipline design meetings and interact with clients.
  • Supervise topographic and utility survey teams as required.
  • Develop cost-effective phased plans for upgrades and replacement of site infrastructure.
