Job description

The Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on leading an electrical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions in the energy sector. This role involves mentoring junior staff and collaborating with clients to develop innovative energy solutions. The team is dedicated to addressing the complexities of energy resiliency and decarbonization. Candidates will engage in business development and strategy formation to expand the energy transition portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • At least 10 years of engineering design and/or consulting experience
  • Professional Engineering licensure (any US state), with the ability to acquire a license in additional states if required
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships and win work
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in business growth strategy and develop new project opportunities
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Availability to travel as required to support project needs
  • Availability to work at least 2 days per week in the Chicago, IL office when not travelling

Responsibilities

  • Lead an electrical engineering team to provide advisory services and engineering design solutions for clients
  • Collaborate with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on strategic pursuits
  • Mentor and manage junior and mid-level electrical engineering staff members
  • Evaluate client energy needs and develop concept-level plans and solutions
  • Take projects through detailed design to full execution
  • Engage in business development and strategy formation for the energy transition portfolio
