Job description

The Wastewater Treatment Engineer will work with a team of wastewater engineers and designers in Hawaii and the broader Pacific region. This role focuses on evaluating and designing wastewater treatment systems to address complex client challenges. The engineer will be involved in both pilot and full-scale treatment system projects, ensuring innovative solutions are delivered effectively. Collaboration and communication with clients are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with water, wastewater, and/or industrial treatment
  • Strong interest in treatment and/or mechanical system design and operation
  • Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate treatment and process options to determine the best approaches to solve client challenges
  • Design and implement pilot scale treatment systems
  • Plan and design full-scale treatment systems and treatment plant improvements for construction
  • Develop facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Write technical reports and support bidding and permitting services
