Job description

The Senior Systems Engineer / Network Engineer role at Jacobs involves designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise systems and network monitoring platforms. Requirements

  • TS/SCI w/ CI Poly Clearance is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is suggested but not required.
  • Certifications in Micro Focus NA, NNMi, OpenText, CCNP/CCNA, or ITIL are strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of IT experience with extensive work in systems engineering and network engineering is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Micro Focus NA and NNMi is necessary.
  • Experience with OpenText or other Micro Focus enterprise tools in IT operations is required.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and automation is essential.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Micro Focus NA and NNMi for network automation and monitoring.
  • Engineer and support other network management systems as part of enterprise IT operations.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for systems and networks.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure and application development.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and upgrade/patch management schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements across IT systems.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
